number 050282. This is a complete balanced exhaust header pipe assembly for the 1975 Norton Commando 850 MK3 with electric start, and will also fit 1973–1974 850 Commando models with the complete assembly.

The Norton Commando 850 used a distinctive balanced exhaust system in which the two header pipes are connected by a balance tube (cross-over pipe) near the cylinder head. This crossover design equalizes exhaust pulses between cylinders, improving throttle response and low-end torque compared to unbalanced pipes. The balance tube attaches via threaded connectors (part 06-6332) and the pipes seat in the cylinder head using a corrugated sealing ring system with locking rings and tab washers.
