The head steady is the third point of the Commando’s famous three-point Isolastic mounting system. While the front and rear Isolastic mounts carry the primary engine loads, the head steady controls lateral movement at the top of the engine, preventing the cylinder head from rocking side-to-side. Without a properly functioning head steady, vibration and handling imprecision creep in – especially noticeable at highway speeds. The Norvil stainless steel assembly uses dual rubber bushes in an oil-damped housing, mimicking the front and rear mounts for a consistent, fully isolated drivetrain package.
